  • Western District Schools’ Spelling Competition 2019

On Thursday 24th October 17 students from grades 4, 5 & 6 took part in a spelling competition at Warrnambool Primary School. Well done to all the students who attended. A big congratulations to a Shelby Byrne who was the overall grade 4 girls winner!! This was a spelling competition that had you on the edge of your seats, with a 6 way tie in the written test and and an additional ‘spell off’ in the oral component to see Shelby crowned the champ! It is a big commitment to attend an event like this and all the students represented the school extremely well. Congratulations again to all who attended.

  • Indigenous Culture

Thank you to Tanya McDonald  and Adeline who came this term to teach our P-4 students about local Aboriginal dances and the story behind them. We learnt the Hunting Dance “Gnootyoong Karweeyn” and all about the animals involved like the kuyang (eel), gneeangar (eagle), koorrayn (kangaroo) and the kapprring (emu). The students and staff really enjoyed it and learnt a lot.
