• Greater Western Region Swimming – 22nd March, 2019

    GWR Swimming On Friday 22nd March, 12 Terang College students travelled to Horsham to compete in the GWR Swimming Championships. The Terang College team consisted of Caytlyn Sharp, Su-Ri Kim, Darcy Abbott, James Hookway, Dylan Hoare, Kara Gee, Annalise Abbott, Chloe Anderson, Jessica Beasley and Tom, Max and Ingrid Cavarsan. All students swam exceptionally well with some outstanding results and PB’s. Caytlyn won her 50m free and 50m Backstroke and will compete at state championship, as will Ingrid who won her 50m free, back, fly, 200m Individual Medley and 200 freestyle. Both Darcy and Su-Ri competed at their first Regional Swimming Championship and showed a lot of improvement from district level.…

  • Combined Primary Division Swimming Championships – 15th March, 2019

    On Friday 15th March we had 10 students compete at the Combined Primary  Division Championships in Warrnambool. The students who competed were- Sema Meric, Shelby Teal, Felicity Wood, Emma Hill, Cooper Logan, Oliver Guthrie, Su-Ri Kim, Jessica Bell, Ben Carlin and Edward Delaney. This was  the first time a number of the students had competed in a 50 m pool before. Su-Ri Kim had a great swim in her 50 breaststroke and as a result of this qualified to compete at GWR Championships in Horsham. The students competed very well on the day with many personal bests times achieved. They should be very proud of their swims on the day.…

  • SSV Regional Golf – 19th March, 2019

    SSV Regional Golf On Tuesday 19th March, Josh Brown competed in the School Sport Victoria Golf Tournament in Port Fairy. Josh played 9 holes, finishing 1st in the senior boys competition, with an impressive 36 off the stick/to par. Josh has now qualified to compete at the SSV State Championship on the 24th May at The Metropolitan Golf Club, Oakleigh. Congratulations Josh on this fantastic result.

  • Free Community Seminar – Health After Hurt – Tuesday 30th April, 2019

    Health After Hurt, kidnapped teacher and author Rob Hunter, retells the story of the Wooreen State School kidnapping of 1977 and the after affects. The presentation gives first hand insight into the trauma experienced by the victims, of heroism and bravery, along with the health and healing that is possible from such pain and torment.

  • Clay Target Shooting Success in New Zealand

    Congratulations to Matt Molan who recently returned from his first overseas shooting trip to New Zealand .  Matt competed in & won 3 categories: The Under 21 Double Rise, The Junior Champion of Champions and the Junior High Gun.  This was great preparation for Matt as he prepares to compete in Roma, Queensland for the Australia Nationals in 2 weeks time where he will aim to make the Mackintosh team.

  • P-12 House Athletics Summary

      Congratulations to all students who participated in Terang College’s first P-12 House athletics last Tuesday 12th March.  The drizzly rain didn’t dampen the student’s spirit. There was a colourful array of costumes, from Super Mario sprinting down the track to a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle leaping over the high jump. It was wonderful to see all students, from Prep through to Year 12 supporting one another across all events. It was a clean sweep for Keayang, claiming the Champion House Shield in the P-4 and 5-12 catergory.   • Congratulations to Cinaya Vargas

    An exceptional miniature painting has earned Terang College student Cinaya Vargas selection into the prestigious Top Arts exhibition, part of the VCE Season of Excellence. Cinaya completed her artwork, titled, ‘Isolated, Looking Out’ in her Studio Arts subject in Year 12 last year. Her beautifully detailed oil painting was executed on a small Dibond aluminium panel (17cmx5cm) . Her work will be displayed in the Top Arts exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria from the 22nd March to the 14th July 2019.
