Covid-19 Update – 27th May, 2021

Thursday 27th May 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians

As you are aware the Victorian Government has announced a seven-day lockdown to try and stop the coronavirus outbreak from spreading any further.

As a result, the following procedures have been implemented once again:

Friday 28th May

  • All students, P-12 will undertake independent learning at home. This may include completing homework tasks, literacy and numeracy tasks and specialised tasks.
  • Teachers and Support staff will be preparing their classes for next week. Classes will commence on Monday 31st

 Monday 31st May

  • Terang College students, regardless of whether they are onsite or at home, will commence remote learning. Rostered supervision will be in place for those students who are onsite. This will consist of staff who have volunteered to work onsite.
  • The school buses will continue to operate as per normal and classes at the P-4 campus will conclude at 3:15pm each day.

Onsite supervision will be provided only for students who qualify in one of the following categories:

  • Vulnerable children, including children in out of-home care, children deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk of harm and children identified by the school as vulnerable (including via referral from a family violence agency, homelessness or youth justice service or mental health or other health service).
  • Children whose parents are considered essential workers, they cannot work from home, and where no other supervision arrangements can be made.

All onsite classes during this time will be held at the P-4 campus. The P-4 campus will not be available to students prior to 8:30am. During this time both General Offices will be closed,  however, you can still contact the College via Compass, phone or emails.

Teachers at both the P-4 and 5-12 campuses will use the same formats they have used previously. Information regarding the structure of the P-4 day will be sent home shortly.

The 5-12 school day will commence at 9:00am with a video chat during home group. This time can be used to review plans for the day and deal with any concerns/issues that may arise. Class rolls will be marked during this time.

If you have any concerns, we ask that you do not contact your child’s teacher, but instead speak to the Greg Button, Michael Castersen or Julie-Ann Kelly.

Yours Sincerely

Mr. Greg Button          Mr. Michael Castersen                       Mrs. Julie-Ann Kelly
