Department ruling on which students can attend School – 05/05/2020

Recently and understandably, some of our parents/guardians have begun to ask if their child/ren can resume school on a regular basis. Currently, the advice from the Department of Education and the Victorian Chief Health Officer is still the same. All students will be learning from home, except for those students in the following categories:

  • They cannot be supervised at home and no other arrangements can be made. This will be available for children of parents who cannot work from home such as health care workers.
  • Vulnerable children – including those children in out-of-home care or are deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk of harm

Where school aged children can be kept at home with appropriate supervision, they should be kept at home, and access the College’s home-based learning materials.

In circumstances where a child cannot stay at home because there is no appropriate supervision because a parent/carer is performing essential work and no other supervision arrangements can be made or the child is within a vulnerable class of children, then supervision at the College is available.

If you have any concerns we ask that you do not contact your child’s teacher, but instead speak to the College Principal, Greg Button.
