Ecolinc Sessions

On Tuesday Grade 3/ 4 students participated in an Ecolinc online sessions. The students were given the opportunity to interact with palaeontologists live from the William Tyrrell Museum in Canada. Students discovered how the various types of fossils are formed, found, and used to unlock secrets from the past.

On Wednesday both Grade 5-6 and 3-4 students participated in Ecolinc sessions at school. Students become a class of citizen scientists and protect our coastline! Through this lesson, students developed an understanding on:

  • how plastic causes problems for our marine and coastal environments
  • the importance of collecting scientific data
  • how to use a citizen science app
  • design plastic-free alternatives
  • why volunteering is important.
