Greater Western Region Swimming Finals-18/03/22
With racing commencing at 9.15 am, it was a very early start for many of the 11 students who represented TC at the GWR Swimming Finals in Horsham. The senior team was Darcy Abbott-50m Backstroke and Freestyle, Ben Carlin-50m Butterfly, Freestyle and 100m Free, Edward Delaney-50m Backstroke, Lynley Sharp-50m MC Freestyle and Backstroke, Ingrid Cavarsan-50m Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle, and 100m Butterfly and the 18-20 year girl’s Medley and Freestyle relays were Kara Gee, Chloe Anderson, Jess Beasley, and Ingrid Cavarsan. The junior swimmers were Chloe Clifford-50m Butterfly and Jackenzie Sharp-50m MC Backstroke and Freestyle, who both made their debut at Regional level, and Parker McDougall in 50m Backstroke.
There were some outstanding swims and several PBs from our students on the day. The 18-20 year girls relay team swam their final freestyle relay at Regional level, finishing a creditable 2nd. The Sharp sisters, Jackenzie and Lynley, both finished 1st in their 50m Multi-Class Backstroke and Freestyle events, Ingrid finished 2nd in Breaststroke, 1st in 50m Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, and 100m Butterfly. After winning their events, Jackenzie, Lynley, and Ingrid will compete at State Swimming Championships in April, Term 2.
Congratulations to all the students who competed, you should be very proud of your performances, and finally, thank you to the parents for your support and for driving the children to this event.
