On Monday 3rd March, we gathered as a school community for our Induction of School Leaders Ceremony. Here we recognised our 2025 School Leaders, including School Captains, House Captains, SRC, Bus Captains and we also recognised some of our students who have been recognised for their outstanding leadership with opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities.
A highlight of the assembly was when our Year 12 students interviewed our Foundation students, creating a heartwarming moment of connection between the older and younger students. This introduced our school community to our Foundation students, who were eager to share their excitement about starting school.
Our Senior School Captains, Jess Bell and Lucy Board, addressed our students, and recognised the importance of our school values: Respect, Pride and Responsibility. Here is a quote from part of their address, “Responsibility means being accountable for our actions and setting an example for others. It means showing up, putting in effort, and being someone that others can rely on…. Pride is about celebrating who we are as a school and as individuals. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the sports field, in leadership roles, or in the arts, every student at Terang College has something to be proud of…. Respect is the foundation of a strong and supportive school community. It’s about how we treat each other, how we listen, and how we work together. Respect means valuing different opinions, showing kindness, and creating an environment where everyone feels safe and encouraged to be themselves.”
It was wonderful to see so many families in attendance on the day, thank you for being involved.
Congratulations to all students who have taken on leadership roles. We look forward to seeing what 2025 has in store for Terang College.
