Our annual House Cross Country was run as two separate events this year, a F-6 and 7-12 event.
The 7-12 students were first to tackle the course, with the 3km course starting on the dry lake and the challenging 5km run for the 16 year and over boys started at the Pony Club entrance. Both the 3km and 5km events finished at the front of the school.
The first student over the line in the 3 km race was Tayte McMaster with a time of 14 minutes 1 second. Not only was Jess Bell the first girl to cross the finish line she also broke the 17-year-old girls record with a time of 15 minutes and 48 seconds.
In the 5km race Tyler Vickers set the pace, finishing in a record-breaking time of 16 minutes and 14 seconds, followed by Riley Fleming then Mr. Twycross. Impressive running Mr. T. The F-6 students’ cross country was held at the Terang Rec Reserve this year, where we saw Foundation students run a whopping 400m, 6/7-year-old ran 700m, 8- and 9-year-olds 1 km, 10-year-olds 2km and lastly the 11/12/13 year olds completed 3 km. There was a lot of cheering and support from family and students, encouraging everyone to the finish line.
Overall, all students should be congratulated on their efforts and attitude.
The presentation of Age Champions and Champion House will be on Friday 3rd May at 2.35pm during the F-12 Assembly, parents and families are welcome to attend.
