Last Thursday, violin students Airlie Beasley, Renee Cowan and Curtis Benallack attended the South West Youth Music Festival at Kings College in Warrnambool, along with over 120 other instrumental music students from south west schools.
The SWYMF was founded three years ago by our Instrumental Music Teacher, Fiona Pugh and Hannah O’Neill, Brauer College – Head of Music so instrumental music students in the south west region could get together annually to play in bands and orchestras, and celebrate music in schools.
Airlie, Renee and Curtis spent the day playing in a large String Orchestra with other string students from Warrnambool Primary School, Brauer College and Kings College. They learnt new skills and gained valuable experience playing in an orchestra. They all thought the sound was pretty loud and amazing!
