On Wednesday, the VCE VM students visited Penshurst CFA training ground as part of Work-Related Skills Unit 1 and 3.

Throughout the session, students were introduced to OH&S in this specific workplace and were educated on a variety of activities. Students had the opportunity to speak with CFA volunteers and workers who came across the Southwest district on their experiences working in the CFA.

Each half hour session gave students an insight into safety in the home, OH&S in real life situations and exposure to tackling “mock” fires with extinguishers.

The excursion highlighted to students the need for volunteers throughout this organisation and the amazing impact they have in keeping us safe.
