In line with what students have been learning in SAKG and Humanities grade 5/6 students went on an excursion to Tower Hill and Casuarina Nursery, the indigenous nursery in Warrnambool. Students learned about the medicinal use of some plants, bush tucker plants local to the area, and tools they used to hunt and build with. Students also learned about harvesting seeds and the growing process of native plants the nursery goes through. It was a great day out and students left with loads of new information.
