Year 7/8 Branch Out Excursion
Although the weather was a bit hit and miss yesterday it did not deter our students from being part of a FANTASTIC experience. We headed to Colac to local native nursery ‘Oz Trees’ where owner Mark walked us through all areas of his business. From seedling production to propagation, the intricate art of creating and successfully maintaining healthy cuttings, to the engineering aspects of plant pot manufacturing, as well the ups, downs, ins and outs of nursery life. This was a real eye opener for us all but also gave the students insight to the opportunities in this industry.
The latter part of the day involved time at the Camperdown Botanical Garden which gave the students a chance to further develop their botany skills in what were beautiful surrounds! Lots of opportunity for inspiration and spending time on their illustrative techniques.
A HUGE thanks to the students for the way they conducted themselves, they were a credit to themselves and the school. Well done everyone
