Central Australia Trip – 13/10/2024
October 15, 2024
Central Australia Trip
On the evening of Wednesday 9th October, our Central Australia group headed off on their adventure, joining a group of Cobden Tech students on this wonderful experience.
A message from camp:
Yesterday, after a long 20 hours of express travel (with a few stops along the way), we arrived in Cooper Pedy. Most people got some sleep along the way. We enjoyed a town tour and then a look at an underground church and mine. As the sun set, we took some photos and then sat down to a 3 course meal of vegetable soup, meatballs and veggies and chocolate ripple cake. Then it was showers and bed in our underground dormitory. It was a balmy 28 degrees.
This morning, we were up at 5:30 a.m. and on the road by 6:30 a.m., heading for Alice Springs. The temperature was a nice 35 degrees when we arrived. This afternoon, we are having a tour of the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
All students are doing well and having a good time getting to know their new peers.
We look forward to what adventures the weekend will bring.
