We aim to keep school costs affordable and transparent. Families can access information about fees, payment options, and financial support available at Terang College.
Terang College is committed to keeping school-related costs as affordable as possible while ensuring students have access to high-quality learning resources and experiences. When considering parent payments, the College Council carefully reviews all proposed costs to minimise financial impact on families.
Our approach is guided by fairness, transparency, and support.
When determining parent payments, Terang College aims to ensure that:
Items students consume or take ownership of are accurately costed
Payment requests are clearly itemised within the appropriate category
Parents have the option to purchase equivalent Essential Student Learning Items themselves, in consultation with the College
Information about payment options is clear, accessible, and easy to understand
Families receive early notice of annual payment requests to assist with budgeting
Any additional costs during the school year are communicated with reasonable notice
All financial arrangements are handled confidentially and shared only with relevant school personnel
Families may be charged via family accounts for the following:
Annual Materials and Services Charge
This charge covers essential items such as classroom materials, the college magazine, and photocopying.
(For example, in 2021 this charge was $300 per student.)
Camps and Excursions
Camps and excursions must be paid in full prior to the event.
Specialist Program Costs
Some specialist areas or programs may incur additional costs from time to time.
Terang College understands that families may experience financial difficulties and may be unable to meet full or partial payment requests.
Parents and carers are encouraged to speak confidentially with the College Principal or Business Manager, who will work with families to explore available support options and flexible arrangements.
No student will be disadvantaged due to financial hardship.
Eligible families may also receive a Prep and Year 7 Uniform Allowance, which supports the purchase of school uniforms for students entering these year levels.
Further information about eligibility and application processes is available through the school office.
Eligible families may apply for support through the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF).
This funding helps cover the costs of school trips, camps, and sporting activities.
All parent payments are managed in line with the Department of Education’s Parent Payment Policy.
This policy ensures consistency, fairness, and transparency in how schools request and manage payments.
